EAA MARATHON PHOTO ALBUM

Please send us pictures of you and your airplane (identify both!)  Or, pictures of just you doing something aviation-related (making airplane sounds, looking at the sky, reading Sporty Aviator, etc)   We need your photos!

Living in the Keys, many of us have daydreamed about the Seawind Amphibian.  It's fast, beautiful, and carried a big load.  Ron Greeley did something about his dreams.  That's his Seawind above.  You'll see the nifty four-place plane around and above the airport.
Another entry in the quickly growing Light Sport Aircraft category is this Legend Cub N1313V belonging to Dick Parsons.  This Legend Cub is powered by a 100HP Continental 0-200.  There is another similar aircraft on the field powered by a Jabiru.  You can tell it's Dick because of the unusual paint scheme and because you'll see him waving from the front cockpit!

I'm the good looking one on the right!
Nothing flies like a new plane!

Frank Derfler takes delivery of his new AMD Zodiac Light Sport aircraft N183AM.  You'll see this blue and white bird all around the airport.  One advantage of a new plane is the ability to put in a new glass cockpit!  For more information see www.flyinflorida.com As always, click on the pictures to make them full size!

Okay, I WISH I had put an AI in front of the right seat!
A Glass Cockpit in a little plane... what a great combinaiton!

Jim Janda is a familiar figure around the flight line.  Although usually the 172 he shares with his wife Pat is all put together, sparkling, and ready to go!

The four photos above are of a JD-2 Dyke Delta N18DW being renovated by DW himself, Dave Williams of our cha[ter. N18DW first flew in April of 1972 and has been on several covers of books and magazines.

N18DW has been in storage since the 1980s.  The aircraft is now fully covered and partially painted.  The next phase of the project is the cowling, canopy and the final color coats of paint.   It is fitted with a 210 HP Lycoming IO-390-X series engine and a three bladed MT Constant Speed Propeller. The target cruise is 195 smph and a range of 900 miles or more.

The editor is very jealous!  Good job, Dave!

EAA 1241 member Bob Siler brought his Navion home to Marathon.  This is an outstanding example of a line of airplanes with a great history.  Bob now has flexibility, range, and payload.  A super bird!
